Betty was born prematurely, causing her immune system to be weak and her body fragile. She wasn't expected to live past the first few months of her life, but she is still going strong, despite her brother trying to slow her down. She and her brother were orphaned from a young age, which brought out Betty's rebellious side, making her defiant of the social norms for women in the early 1900's. She hated wearing corsets, despised skirts, and much preferred trousers.
